BT Americas

As COO and Regional Director of Operations, Spence is responsible for BT’s commercial operations in North America, for expanding BT’s capabilities in region, driving strategic development and forming new supplier and distribution partnerships. BT has approximately 3,000 employees in the US, focused on establishing BT as a leading provider of global networked IT services.
Prior to his appointment in October 2005, Spence had dual roles as vice president, Business Management and Marketing, and was responsible for increasing sales and brand awareness among BT’s multi-sited organization target market.

Spence spent several years with BT’s global Wholesale Business, where he was responsible for all sales to BT’s top 50 fixed telco, mobile and ISP customers outside the UK. Before his move to Wholesale, Spence was vice president, BT Global Products, managing BT’s broad portfolio of global voice and data services
Before returning to BT, Spence held a variety of senior roles at Concert, the BT-AT&T global venture that was finally dissolved in 2002. As vice president, Global eBusiness Services, Spence was responsible for developing and launching a new portfolio of IP value-added applications. He previously managed the development of strategic alliances and the distribution of competitive communications services across the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Concert in 1995, Colin was director, Regulatory Affairs, at Syncordia Corporation in Atlanta, GA.

Colin has 25 years experience in marketing, business development and international sales and has been based in the US for the last 14 years. Colin began his career in telecommunications in 1981 with British Telecom, where he held a variety of product management and business development positions before moving to the US with his family in 1991. Colin lives and works in Reston, Virginia, with his wife and two teenage children. His favorite pastime is boating on the Chesapeake Bay.

Colin holds a degree from Aston University in Birmingham, England and attended school at Farnham College, Farnham, England.

Mr. Small is currently a director of the Company.  He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Centennial Communications since January 1999.  Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Small served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of 360ï Communications Company (now a subsidiary of ALLTEL Corporation) from 1995 to 1998.  Prior to 1995, he served as President of Lynch Corporation, a diversified acquisition oriented company with operations in telecommunications, manufacturing and transportation services.  He also previously served at Centel Corporation in various financial and operational roles.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of CTIA – The Wireless Association and has previously served as a director of Spinnaker Industries, Madison River Telephone Company LLC and Valor Telecommunications, LLC. 

Mr. Small received a BA in History from Colgate University where he graduated magna cum laude and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Lee Khatchadourian-Reese is Comcast’s National Director for Customer Service Operations and New Product Deployment.

In this role Lee leads the delivery of new video, voice and data services from technical trials through commercial deployment. Under her leadership, access to real time information and guidance critical for new product launches is made available to product launch teams throughout Comcast.

Under Lee’s leadership Comcast is currently building a sales and retention channel out of 550+ existing Customer Service Centers. Through Lee’s efforts the centers are being redesigned to reflect high-tech retail feel staffed with well trained, knowledgeable representatives that are able to present the full complement of Comcast products and services to both existing and potential customers.

Prior to joining Comcast in 2003, Lee was responsible for retail channel operations and customer experience mangement for AT&T Wireless Services, and retail management for Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Lee serves on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in Cable and Telecommunications, Inc (WICT). As a member of WICT she participates in the WICT Philadelphia mentoring program as a mentor for professional women in the cable industry. She is also a member of the Cable Telecommunication Association of Marketers (CTAM). She currently facilitates an internal internship program at Comcast for the development of field employee’s leadership skills.

Lee received a Bachelor of Arts degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a candidate for a Masters of Science degree in Organization Leadership at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania.

Maribel is a frequent speaker regarding telecommunications and networking topics. She is a frequent speaker at industry events and is often quoted in business and trade publications like The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.

Maribel holds a bachelor of science degree from Babson College in marketing and finance.

Jim D’Arcangelo
Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Agent Channel
Global Crossing Limited

As Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Jim is responsible for product marketing management, marketing communications, segment sales support, and competitive intelligence, as well as the management of the value added reseller/agent channel for Global Crossing.

Jim’s career has been spent leading marketing and sales organizations in emerging technology fields, and he brings specific expertise in strategic marketing, product management, advertising and public relations, sales management, and business development. He has set the direction for teams (from skunk works to fast turn-around project states) in emerging technology markets including personal computers at IBM in the early 80s, network services and interactive television from the mid 80s to mid 90s with Bell Atlantic (Verizon), with internet start-up-turned-successful-IPO Media Metrix in the mid-to-late 90s, and then with pioneer wireless, digital traffic information provider Mobility Technologies.

Jim has been published on several occasions, the latest of which was in the April, 2003 “Journal of Marketing Services,” where he worked with several Wharton Marketing professors to analyze how consumers evaluate and set value for new, unprecedented services. Jim is also trained and certified in psycholinguistics and neuro-linguistic programming relative to target motivation assessment. A past member of several industry boards, Jim co-founded and was president of the Internet Local Advertising and Commerce Association, before merging it with the Internet Advertising Bureau.

Jim has an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a masters degree in Marketing and Sales from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from George Washington University where he also conducted work toward his PhD in Organization Development.

Robert Jones recently moved to the leadership position of Vice President – Mass Market Staff Operations with responsibility for Sales Support Operations, Credit Risk Management, Collection Centers and Staff Support.  

Prior to this assignment, Jones was Qwest’s SVP/VP - Network Services for Qwest local network operations, a 10,000-person organization that planned, designed and engineered phone switching and local distribution facilities, as well as provisioning and maintaining services for nine states in Qwest’s 14-state region. In addition he has lead the customer technical support centers for broadband Internet, wireless, voice and cross-platform applications, as well as the network staff group.

Jones has over twenty years of telecommunications experience in network operations, sales, marketing, software development, finance and public policy.

Prior to joining Qwest he worked for SBC Communications (Pacific Bell), Sprint Communications and the California Public Utilities Commission. He is a graduate of both the University of California and the University of Michigan where he studied Resource Economics and Public Policy.
