Biography:
Erik Goldman is President of Hughes Telematics, a telematics service company that is majority owned by Apollo Management, one of the world’s largest private equity firms.
Prior to joining Hughes Telematics, Goldman spent nearly 25 years in varied engineering, operations and business development positions in the telecom and telematics industries that served as the foundation for his work today. Most recently, Goldman served as Vice President of SkyTerra Communications, where his responsibilities included acquisition, development and corporate oversight of the organization’s portfolio companies in the wireless and satellite services industry.
Prior to SkyTerra, Goldman served in leadership roles developing military communications networks with Raytheon and Mitre Corporation, commercial mobile wireless businesses with dbX Corporation, a holding company established to invest in, develop and operate businesses in the telecom, paging and satellite communications industry and most recently was with Leo One Worldwide where as Vice President of Technology & Strategic Development he led the development of a global Telematics solution for the automotive industry.
Goldman earned his MBA from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He has written numerous white papers, and has published in the International Journal of Satellite Communications. In addition, he has held a number of government security clearances and holds a U.S. Patent, with several others pending.

Mark Rechtin has been the Los Angeles Bureau Chief for the Automotive News since 1993, with the exception of a one-year stint as the London Bureau Chief for Automotive News Europe. In his L.A. Bureau Chief position, Mark has been intimately involved in covering all automakers with U.S. operations based on the West Coast. However, with Toyota becoming the world's No. 1 automaker, Mark is currently focusing on Toyota. Mark began his focus on Toyota in 2006 by editing the 200-page special edition "Turning Points: 25 Pivotal Decisions in Toyota's 50 Years in America." Mark is a true “car-guy” with his garage currently housing a 1987 Porsche 911 and a 1999 Ducati 748.
Mark was graduated by Northwestern University in 1988 with a B.S. in Journalism.
David Harris

David Harris is the Advertising & e-Business Manager for American Suzuki Motor Corporations Automotive Division. David has been with Suzuki for the past 6 years during which time he has worked with Suzuki's various websites and Automotive lead generation programs as well as implementing Siebel into their Customer Care Center. Prior to joining Suzuki, David worked with Doubleclick and Autobytel where he was involved with customer lifecycle management and sales.
David has over a decade of experience in the interactive arena with many years focused around the utilization of CRM systems to address and better manage revenue generation through out the customer lifecycle. His recent involvement with the interactive side of the Motor Sports and Automotive industries has allowed him to blend motor oil and computers into a profession that makes everyday at work exciting!
David holds an MBA degree from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.
Don Foley

Biography:
Don Foley joined Automotive X Prize in 2006 as a senior consultant, and became Executive Director of the organization in June, 2007. Foley is a veteran communicator with extensive experience in national politics and corporate affairs. He most recently served as founding member of Prism Public Affairs, a Washington, DC based public affairs firm.
Over his career, Foley has advised corporate and non-profit organizations on issue campaigns, including major coalition efforts to pass federal legislation. Foley has also used his personal experience as a spokesman and media strategist for major officials to train CEOs for speeches, hearings and media appearances.
Foley arrived in Washington in 1977 after managing Rep. Richard Gephardt’s (D-Mo.) first congressional campaign. He served as Gephardt’s press secretary for 12 years and served as deputy press secretary in the 1984 presidential campaign of Walter F. Mondale. Foley served as administrative assistant for Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) for three years and served five years at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
Appointed by Sen. George Mitchell, Foley served under Sens. Charles Robb, Bob Graham and Bob Kerrey. He left the DSCC to become convention manager of the 1996 Democratic Convention. Foley joined Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis in 1996 where he managed internal, domestic and international communications, crisis communications and alliance communications in Europe and Asia.
Prior to founding his own agency, Foley assisted several corporations and non-profits in their Washington communications needs through his work as Chief Operating Officer of Powell Tate. He is based in Washington, DC.
Don was graduated by St. Louis University with a BA in Political Science and Urban Affairs.
Kevin Peters

Kevin S. Peters was appointed National Manager–Remarketing for Chrysler Financial in February 2007. In this role, Peters is responsible for Chrysler Financial Remarketing Operations. Key areas of responsibility include managing the customer interaction of the lease turn-in process, brand loyalty, and mitigation of residual exposure for Chrysler Financial and Chrysler Group. Previously, he was the National Sales & Marketing Manager – Business Vehicle Finance Division for Chrysler Financial, with responsible for setting up Sales, Marketing, and Credit Operations for the commercial finance division supporting Chrysler Group. Since he joined the company in 1998 Peters has held roles an Operations Manager, District Finance Manager, and Dealer Credit Analyst.
Prior to joining Chrysler Financial, Peters worked at Toyota Motor Credit for 5 years where he had positions in Wholesale, Credit, Lease Maturity, and Customer Service and Collections.
Peters holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University.
Oliver Dixon

Oliver Dixon is the CRM Manager for Ford Motor Company. In this role, he is responsible for Owner and Conquest Direct Marketing Campaigns for Ford Division and Lincoln Mercury; MyFord Owner Magazine for Ford Division; ConsumerTRAC Dealer CRM Follow-Up; Handraiser Customized Brochure fulfillment; Email collection, permissions, and communications; and the Integration of Direct Marketing between Ford Customer Service and Ford Motor Credit.
Oliver has over 17 years experience with Ford, having held positions in Field Sales, Dealer Digital, Ford.com, Lincoln Mercury National Distribution, Inventory Management, Database Consolidation, and Demand Sensing.
Oliver served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He received his BA from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and his MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Oliver is married with 3 kids and is an avid snowboarder and marathon runner.
Thilo Koslowski

In his role as Vice President and Lead Automotive Analyst in Gartner’s Industry Advisory Service, Mr. Koslowski helps business and IT leaders in the automotive industry to unlock the potential of technology to drive growth and manage technology's impact on business models and processes. Before joining Gartner, Mr. Koslowski was a consultant in GartnerConsulting's Executive Market Analysis Program, where he participated in customized domestic and international consulting assignments for vendors in the services and e-business markets. Prior to that, he worked in various marketing positions for a premium, European automaker. Mr. Koslowski graduated with honors from the Technical University (RWTH) Aachen in Germany and holds a master's degree in Business Studies with majors in Marketing, European Economy and Production Engineering.

Kris Mayer

Biography:
Kris Mayer was appointed Director, Customer Retention, effective July 1, 2006. In this position, he is responsible for implementing key initiatives to grow GM’s customer retention centered around strategies aimed at exceeding customer requirements of trust, convenience and value.
Mayer started his career with General Motors in January of 1984 in Customer Relations. From 1985 to 1998, he held a variety of positions in field service, warranty, customer relations, sales and marketing each with increasing responsibility within the Pontiac and GMC Division. Kris was appointed VSSM zone manager, Denver in 1999, responsible for sales, service, parts and GMAC field operations. In 2000, he was named Director, Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales for GM Indonesia. Since joining SPO in 2003, he has served as Director of GM Parts Customer Pay Initiatives, Business Development. Prior to his current assignment, he was Director, Powertrain Business Line with SPO.
He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Central Michigan University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Karen Newman

Karen Newman is the Automotive Industry Lead Partner for the Americans. In this role, Ms. Newman is responsible for managing the portfolio of clients across Automotive OEMs, Automotive Suppliers, and Heavy Equipment manufacturers. This responsibility includes client relationships, client satisfaction, and value realization related to the solutions IBM develops and implements with those organizations.
Prior to this role Ms. Newman lead the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) services area for IBM’s Automotive Industry team in the Americas. In addition, she represents IBM on the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Steering Committee for Collaborative Engineering & Product Development.
Ms. Newman has more than 20 years experience in helping customers transform and improve their businesses and develop strategies and processes for success, with a deep focus on engineering and manufacturing organizations. Ms. Newman has a broad background in business transformation with firms such as Ford, Visteon, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Federal Mogul, IBM and many others in the automotive industry.
Prior to joining IBM in 1997, Ms. Newman worked for Electronic Data Systems in a variety of leadership roles spanning 11 years. Ms. Newman earned a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.
Tom Dobry

Tom Dobry is the Vice President of Marketing at Lithia Motors, an automotive retail group with 100+ stores and a variety of franchises. In this role, Tom is helping Lithia differentiate themselves from traditional dealers with a model of superior customer care. He’s currently integrating initiatives in branding, CRM, pricing, and Internet sales - all with the goal of providing customers with the best automotive buying and ownership experience.
Tom began his career with BBDO, an advertising agency and Chrysler marketing partner, where he worked from 1987 to 2002. When Customer Relationship Marketing was in its’ infancy, Tom was involved in BBDO’s effort to help Chrysler develop a CRM program. Tom was also responsible for educating Dodge Dealers about the benefits of integrating OEM and retailer CRM programs.
From 2002 to 2007, Tom worked for Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Advertising taking on the challenge of developing customer-focused programs for GM’s Saturn stores. While working with Saturn, Tom helped develop a blueprint to improve Saturn’s celebrated customer experience.
Tom has a BA from Michigan State University and a MBA from the University of Oregon.
Tom Kelly

Thomas M. Kelly III is the Vice President – Marketing for Mack Trucks, Inc. In this role, Kelly directs marketing activities and customer order fulfillment for the world-renowned truck manufacturer based in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
Kelly has held positions of increasing importance at a number of major manufacturers in the U.S. – including Deere & Company, Cessna Aircraft, and Navistar International as well as Mack. Over a business career spanning 30 years, he has served as an accountant, materials manager, cost estimation director, quality manager and plant manager at facilities in Illinois, Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Kelly first joined Mack in 1991 as director of materials management. He rejoined the company in 1995 after a brief stint as plant manager of Navistar’s plastics operation in Columbus, Ohio and was subsequently named General Manager of Mack’s Macungie Assembly Operations. Kelly was named to current position of Mack Vice President – Marketing in January 1999, and is based at the Mack World Headquarters in Allentown, PA.
Mack Trucks, Inc. is part of the Volvo Global Trucks subsidiary of AB Volvo. The subsidiary is the second-largest truck group in the world, and includes Volvo Trucks and Renault V.I.’s truck operations along with Mack.
Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He and his wife Gwen have three children and live in Center Valley, PA.
Tim Haynes

Mr. Haynes is the Director of IS, Global Financial Services at Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. In this role, he is responsible for the IS department’s global vision and leadership. He directs the development, maintenance, and support of the application portfolio, and is responsible for all aspects of the application development process and IS delivery to NMAC business units. He has managed the successful delivery of several key initiatives including a large CRM implementation with functionality including a consumer portal, customer service, collections and marketing.
Prior to joining NMAC, Mr. Haynes was the Director of Application Development at GMAC. While at GMAC he developed the IT vision for the North American Operations and had responsibility for project delivery, support, and operations. Mr. Haynes has also held technology and consulting positions with Accenture, Frontier Communications, and the Handleman Company.
Mr. Haynes was graduated by Walsh College in 1996 with a B.A. in Business and he received a M.S. in Information Technology Management in 2002 from Carnegie Melon University.
Ed Allen

Ed Allen, Vice President, Automotive Industry Business Unit at Oracle, has been working in the automotive industry in IT and Operations for 19 years and at Oracle for the past seven years. His automotive industry experience includes positions managing Supply Chain, IT, Manufacturing and Product Development at Mazda and Ford. He has deep experience in Applied Technology, Lean Manufacturing, International Logistics, ERP systems implementation and organizational transformation. He has had many complex and challenging assignments including developing and deploying international manufacturing systems, managing International Logistics operations and launching vehicle programs in Asia, South America, and Europe.
In his current role as, Ed has global responsibility for Oracle Automotive Solutions across the automotive industry. Ed has detailed experience specifically within Supply Chain, CRM, Procurement and Product Development applications and has helped lead many successful customer initiatives at global Automotive OEMs and Suppliers.

Mike Spadafore

Mike Spadafore is the Global Director, Consumer & Commercial Marketing for R. L. Polk & Co. and is responsible for CRM and Digital Marketing product and service development.
During his six years with Polk, Mike has been involved in a wide variety of Polk initiatives relating to Automotive CRM systems and services, most notably as the designer of Polk’s Lead Scoring / Lead Management offerings and Polk’s Transportation List Access System. Prior to Polk, Mike owned and managed a consulting practice specializing in interactive database marketing and large scale data integration, primarily in the Automotive Retail marketplace.
Mike earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan.
Rachel Richards

Rachel Richards is the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Process Management for Sonic Automotive - a Fortune 300 company with 173 dealerships representing 34 different automotive brands. Rachel’s professional experience includes more than 22 years of leadership experience in the automotive industry.
In July 2006, Rachel joined Sonic Automotive and has responsibility for Sonic’s national advertising, marketing, customer relationship management, traffic management, asset inventory management, corporate planning, eCommerce/Digital Marketing, and Sonic’s national training organization.
Prior to joining Sonic, Rachel worked for Ford Motor Company for 20 years where she held various field, regional management, and corporate positions in Ford’s captive automotive finance company; Ford Credit, Parts & Service Division, Sales & Marketing Division, and Product Marketing.
Rachel’s holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University and is a member of the Women’s Automotive Association International.
On the personal front, her passions include cars (of course!), gourmet cooking for friends and family, and exercise. Rachel is married and has one daughter.
Brian Simmermon

Brian Simmermon is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA), headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J. He is responsible for overseeing the operations of information technology for Subaru, its company-owned regional offices and independent distributors. Since joining SOA, he has taken a journey to simplify the technology environment, build a more flexible and agile IT organization which has enabled SOA to continue to increase its market share in the Automotive industry.
Brian joined SOA in 2005. Prior to joining SOA, he was Senior Vice President Enterprise Applications Development at QVC, Inc. While at QVC, Brian orchestrated the development, refinement and deployment of a five-year strategic plan to transform legacy technologies to Enterprise applications for installation in UK, Germany, Japan and US. He also deployed a supply chain package to track end-to-end product flow and replenishment from vendors located in Asia to distribution centers located in the US, allowing real time visibility of product movement for the first time at QVC.
From 1986-2003, Brian was with the Franklin Mint, most recently as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to that he was in progressive leadership roles such as Vice President & COO of European Operations with facilities in 11 international locations, as well as Vice President positions in Customer Service Operations, Corporate Marketing Operations and Information Systems. Among Brian’s accomplishments are the design and implementation of a three-year strategic business plan that linked technology with organizational goals while reducing costs by 60 percent; P&L responsibility for the $120 million European business; and implementation of systems in support of business-to-business and business-to-consumer environments. He also spearheaded and managed the architecture and completion of a data warehousing system, and successfully launched an e-commerce Web site.
Brian received a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. Brian is active in several Information Technology organizations including the Society of Information Management Professionals and the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group. Brian also is the chair for a local CIO Roundtable group.
Mike Musich

Biography:
Mike Musich is the National Signature Development Manager for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Toyota Signature is a Dealer Operations initiative focused on increasing customer loyalty along with dealership profitability. Toyota Signature teaches dealership teams to rapidly improve dealership processes to enhance the customer’s Toyota experience.
Mike is responsible for the implementation of Toyota Signature. He identifies and implements dealership process management techniques and best practices.
Mike joined Toyota in 1991 and has served in a variety of Senior Management positions in the field and at Toyota National Headquarters in Torrance, California.
Before joining Toyota, Musich had a 19 year career with Chrysler Corporation in regional sales and marketing management positions in the Midwest, Northwest and Northeast.
A native of the Chicago area, Musich earned a B.S. degree in Economics and Finance from Purdue University. Musich and his wife live in Southern California.
